1. WWE: Cinematic Matches

The COVID-19 pandemic changed the entire world of pro wrestling and WWE came up with the first ever cinematic match at Wrestlemania 36 between The Undertaker and AJ Styles. This match steals the show and became the talk of the town. After this WWE deliver some more cinematic matches like Swamp Fight and Firefly Funhouse match. Boneyard match between Taker and Styles considered to be the best match of 2020 and Cena and Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse came to second close.

AEW does have cinematic matches to cater the fans during pandemic like Stadium Stampede and Tooth and Nail match. Both the matches were entertaining but as compared to WWE cinematic matches it does fall short and AEW need to work a lot on cinematic matches. Recently, Sting and Darby Allin face Team Taz in a cinematic Street Fight but still it doesn’t touch the benchmark which was set by Taker and Styles at WM 36.
