When the announcement came at Bound For Glory 2020 that Impact were going to bring the Knockouts tag team titles back, everyone was very excited as it was something that we’d all been anticipating and waiting for. Impact had a tournament in order to crown the first champions and the tournament itself was very entertaining and all done well in my opinion.
At Hard To Kill 2021 we saw Fire N’ Flava win to become the first champions (of this inception) and it felt like a really big deal. The issue came when most of the talent who was in the tournament no longer stuck around with in Impact, leaving the champs with very little competition.
However the knockouts division is still very good and with Slammiversary on the rise, we may see more on the way. So lets have a look at who Impact may be able to line up for the current knockouts tag team champions?
5. Kimber Lee and Ruby Soho (Riot)
This is more of a fantasy booking but it’s one that I can definitely picture. Ruby Soho has a very unique look and style to her, which sadly WWE never managed to use to the best of her ability. Given that Jake something is her partner, that may be a positive step for her into Impact? However I don’t put too much into those little details.
When in WWE Ruby was in a popular faction know as the Riot Squad and while I don’t think Impact should recreate that, there is definitely something there that could be tapped into. With Kimber just breaking away from Deonna she’s been showing an attitude (deliberately) of being a bit lost. I can see with a slight change of look Kimber and Ruby could blend really well as team.
