Maven defeats Batista (October 25th, 2004)

Having won the inaugural Tough Enough contest, Maven was granted a WWE contract, quickly making his mark in the company, he memorably eliminated The Undertaker from the 2002 Royal Rumble. On an episode of SmackDown, the rookie even pinned The Undertaker after interreference from The Rock, allowing Maven to win the Hardcore title. After this, he stayed in the main event, challenging for top belts against Triple H and Chris Jericho.

During his feud with Evolution, Maven managed to pull out another upset win, defeating Evolution’s powerhouse Batista. After ‘The Beast’ had dominated the majority of the match, he set up the Batista Bomb before Maven rolled out into a School Boy pin to get the shocking victory, much to the dismay of Evolution.

Ultimately, Maven’s feud with Evolution would not last much longer as Batista soon defied the faction to become one of the company’s biggest stars. Despite this, Maven’s win over the future 4-time World Heavyweight titleholder.
