During the height of the Monday Night Wars, the biggest asset to WCW’s 84 weeks rating domination was the New World Order. Before becoming over bloated to the point of lunacy, they were a new, bad, cool faction on the scene that became an overnight sensation. Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash are the most memorable members but the group was also filled with talents like leader Eric Bischoff and manager Ted DiBiase on top of wrestlers like Randy Savage, The Giant and Curt Hennig. Similarly, DX had talents like Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, Chyna and Triple H. 3 wrestlers appeared in both groups.

X-Pac joined DX in 1998 after a run in WCW as Syxx in the NWO. Rick Rude’s run was more memorable – appearing in DX and the NWO the same week when he simultaneously appeared on Monday Nitro and Monday Night Raw. Also in 2002, Shawn Michaels had very brief runs in both stables in WCW, making him a member of both in the same year.

As DX cropped up just a matter of months after to rival WCW’s renegade group, there have been many accusations of plagiarism over the years. Although the Kliq allies have faced off in singles action, not in their respective faction-based gimmicks or in tag action. This would mean we would see a significant gang war as the biggest stable in WCW history take on the biggest in WWE history.
