22. AJ Styles Vs. Triple H

Rumors claimed that AJ Styles was disappointed with being in the tag title match at WrestleMania 37 when teaming with Omos to win the Raw duos straps. This was as the apparent plan for the match involving ‘The Phenomenal One’ saw AJ take on Triple H in what would definitely be an intriguing match-up.

In the mid-2000s both were the respective flag-bearers of their company as Triple H was a top star on WWE’s Raw brand and AJ Styles was one of TNA’s biggest talents. This would remain for a few years as both would evolve, with Styles switching between TNA, ROH and NJPW whilst ‘The Game’ stayed loyal to WWE due to his links with the McMahon family. Both are likely nearing the twilight of their careers with Triple H in his 50s and Styles in his 40s. The feud could be over the bigger star, the Indys vs WWE, the better wrestler generally, etc. They also share a link as being stars regarded as wasted by WCW – both having short runs in Atlanta, Georgia before moving on to huge success.
