Hey everyone I hope all is well, I am finally back and doing some more writing about one of my favorite things WRESTLING! So to get me back into the swing of things a buddy gave me an idea and it’s an easy one. After Logan Paul called out Rey Mysterio after his “boxing” match I immediately thought “Yeah, he needs to take that belt off Rey”. I have many reasons for this for for readers sake I am keeping it to only 3. Let’s get right to it. These are the 3 reasons why Logan Paul should take the US Championship from Rey Mysterio.
Reason 3: The LWO/Rey Mysterio Story is kind of disappointing
I mean I think it’s fair to say Rey Mysterio’s US title run has been kinda boring right? I mean the way he won the belt was odd to me and then he briefly had a thing with Escobar over the belt and the match was good and all but we need a story and this belt to feel important again. It hanging around in the LWO when IMO WWE needs to build the LWO as a group up to be credible challengers before they have any gold in the group. I think getting the US title out of the LWO would help the belt in itself.
Reason 2: The Logan Paul vs Rey Mysterio match would deliver big time
As soon as I heard Logan Paul call out Rey Mysterio the other day all I could think about is how good a match between these two would actually be. We got a taste of it at Wrestlemania when he teamed with Miz to take on Rey & Dominick but we haven’t really seen them go one on one. Whether they do it at Crown Jewell, War Games or the Royal Rumble this match is going to be a fascinating watch. Rey and Logan are both so athletic and skilled off the ropes, we are definitely in for some high risk action as well.
Reason 1: Logan Paul would get more eyes on the US Championship and make it more credible
Gunther’s work with the IC Championship has been amazing and has raised the prestige and importance of that championship. The same needs to be done with the United States Championship. Logan Paul, like it or not, has a huge following outside of the WWE umbrella and IMO that can only help the US title. People are going to see it and wonder what it is and possibly tune in to see Logan defend it and then maybe become a fan of the product. It’s how to build a following 1 on 1. Take notes Tony Khan. Let’s not forget Logan Paul absolutely holds his own in the squared circle as well. He has exceeded every expectation that I’ve had for him since he entered the WWE. I don’t love the idea of the US title potentially being part time since Logan isn’t on a full time schedule but when push comes to shove, getting the US title out in the public eye and getting more eyeballs on it is what’s best for business. I feel like this move should happen and will happen soon.
