2. Jonah Makes A Splash
At Turning Point we saw Jonah make his Impact Wrestling debut. He would come to the ring during a Josh Alexander promo in which Josh said he was angry yet focused on the goal of the World Title. Jonah completely decimated Josh Alexander and left him laying in a pool of his own blood. If you’re looking to bring a monster in with a bang, taking out one of your top babyfaces like this is definitely a great way to do it.
This debut was always going to happen given the news that came out around Bound For Glory, also seeing Jonah come face to face with Moose at NJPW Battle Of The Valley, the debut was something we were all waiting for. It was just one of those things where the question was “how would Impact bring him in and when would it happen?” There definitely seems a direction here and even with this, there could be a bigger plan to it.
Impact definitely sees Jonah as a player at the top of the card, you don’t come into the company and attack Josh Alexander (who won the World Title at Bound For Glory) if you’re not going to be involved in the main event scene. There could also be a bigger picture building with Moose? We’ve seen how Moose and Morrissey still have an alliance (but will happily stab each other in the back if needed), what if we see this alliance get a third name? Moose left the ring rather calmly at Battle Of The Valley when faced with Jonah and the fact that he attacked Josh Alexander, it could be something to keep an eye on, Either way this keeps Josh busy for a while and debuted Jonah with a bang.
