1. And We’re Live
Impact Wrestling have run a system of taping their events for quite some time. They went through a brief period just before the pandemic a couple of years ago where they would tape their weekly shows after their specials would air live, however it didn’t last too long sadly and we were very quickly back to the taped format.
Impact fans have been used to the taped format now that it comes as second nature, however it can feel a little stale at times with nearly two months of TV being taped in 2 nights. At Turning Point however we saw Impact Wrestling revert back to the live format. This was something so refreshing and it made the event feel so much more full of life, (the PPV’s have always remained live and they always come off much better than the monthly specials).
The main positive is that anything can happen with the event being live and you are always on the edge of your seat because there are no spoilers (unlike when it’s taped and they get out). The fact that this is also live you can can feel the energy of the crowd coming forward more. You could feel the energy of a life crowd rather than a crowd who had been there for 3 days in a hot venue and were shattered. Overall this greatly helped the night and hopefully we see them continue the live format of these monthly specials going forward, it really made a difference to the event and hopefully it’s a Turning Point for what’s to come.
