Over the years we have seen a huge variety of gimmick matches and ideas thrown at the wall, some of which stuck and some of which flopped. As always though the saying goes unless you try you just don’t know and Impact were never shy of trying. Some of these matches were one off’s and were decent ideas but just sadly not executed well, others were good ideas and utilised regally, then you had others that were just best to forget.

With the current creative team that’s in place in Impact, there a variety of matches that I feel they would really be able to make feel special when in the past they sadly didn’t feel too big. I’ll mainly be more looking at matches that haven’t been utilised in a while, we’ve recently seen the Ultimate X announced to return at Slammiversry but I feel it was in the works to return for some time, they were just waiting for fans to return, as it’s a match that needs crowd reaction. So let’s have a look at the one’s that may be possibles but also less likely to return. Yet still may wish for one day Impact may bring these ideas back.

5. Lethal Lockdown

The Lockdown pay per view was one of those Pay per views that always felt like one of the big 4 back when Impact did their monthly pay per views, It was also know for it’s annual event also known as Lethal Lockdown. While there would normally be a main event involving the world title Lethal Lockdown would often be the show stealer. It was planned to be brought back in 2020 however plans were derailed sadly due to the pandemic that occurred from spring 2020 to present.

Given that we had Lockdown in 2020 unable to happen, that means the last time we had Lockdown (and therefore Lethal Lockdown) was in 2016, before Scott and Don arrived. With it be such a huge match of the past and a chaotic and fun match, it would be great to see Lethal Lockdown make a return and hopefully stay around as a staple like it used to be.
