When the Cowboy’s music hit at Bound For Glory 2020 everyone was elated to see Storm back in Impact Wrestling. Then when he appeared again after Hard to Kill 2021 and hearing the news the Cowboy was sticking around, Impact fans couldn’t have been happier. James Storm looks in the best shape of his career and given how good he looked I was really hoping we would see Storm enter the singles picture, sadly that’s not what happened and he went straight back to the tag division again.

Storm is an amazing wrestler and he himself said he’s a tag team specialist, but he’s one of those wrestlers who’s always been stuck in the same place. Even when he went to the NWA he was in the tag team division. Storm went into the singles picture briefly for a couple of years back in in 2011-2013 and really proved he belonged there, however he’s never far from being pushed towards another partner for another tag team, hindering his chances of a singles run.

Fans have occasionally said what’s left for James Storm to do in Impact Wrestling, he’s been there for close to 2 decades? That may be true, however when you really think about it, The Cowboy has a whole lot still to do. He’s never held the X Division title and now they’re opening the division up a little more Storm would be a very interesting wrestler to step into the division. He’s only held the world title once and that reign only lasted 8 days so you know he’d like a proper title reign and I know all the fans would love to see The Cowboy get one. Then if we go back to old titles he never held the TV title when that was around in TNA either, so has the Cowboy really done everything? Only when it comes to the tag team division, in order to freshen up the Cowboy we need to see him in the singles picture and away from the Tag Team division where sadly he’s always been stuck.

  1. I’d say Madman Fulton is the one lacking direction over Ace Austin. But the argument would be pretty much the same, there was a break through in the tag division, alongside Ace Austin he’s a former AAW Tag Champion, winning it last year only recently losing it.

There’s a slow build around Ace Austin & right now he’s also got commitments outside wrestling, so this is why he’s not got the X-Division title now.

Shera is another but, career wise he’s building that at OVW & Impact Wrestling is his place to take it easy.
