For a good number of months now we’ve been seeing Kenny Omega pretty much placed on a pedestal in Impact Wrestling. Ever since winning the title from Rich Swann he’s been almost untouchable.
Impact have had two efforts recently in building a specific wrestler up to face Omega but both came out empty handed. Moose and Sami Callihan were both made to feel like the hero’s we needed but Omega still came out victorious in both matches (especially the match against Sami when he won clean).
So if we were looking at who may be next for Omega and you were to say maybe Moose and Sami have had there shot then what happened at Slammiversary may make things interesting. There are a few names who tou could definitely put in this position and could be the one to bring the title back into the hands of Impact Wrestling.
5. W. Morrissey
We’ve seen W. Morrissey go on an absolute tear since he’s stepped into Impact Wrestling. He has a great persona to him with a kind of I’m here for me and if you get in my way then you’re going to get hurt.
With Morrissey being so dominant recently you only have you look at his win record to see why he’s an option to face Omega. He is still unbeaten and has notched up wins against Rich Swann as well as Eddie Edwards this past weekend at Slammiversary. That’s wins over two of the last four world champions in the last year.
You have to also feel that a style Morrissey brings is one that Omega may find tricky, we’ve seen this from so many wrestlers. Impact always talks about the hero’s we don’t want but the one’s we need and Morrissey definitely fits that. this is a real option that Impact could explore and I feel it would create a really interesting match up and after effect if Morrissey were to win.
