With Bound For Glory only a few days away we’re once again in that element of excitement and mystique. With this event however a lot more of the speculation seems to be left to the fans to ponder with pretty much anyone able to walk through the door. We’ve already seen Impact Wrestling announce at Knockouts Knockdown that The IInspiration will be arriving at Bound For Glory, but beyond that there’s been no hype packages like Slammiversary. It really feels like Impact want to keep their cards close to their chest here.
This can be for a couple of reasons, firstly as always that element of surprise. If you have a wrestler (or two) who may create a huge buzz, like we saw with Jay White at Slammiversary. The pop would likely be a lot less if you’re aware that it’s coming as it’s less of a surprise. Due to the way that many Impact Wrestling Storylines are going also there are so many wrestlers who could show up that it’s actually much more interesting to make fans try to guess who may show up.
With Impact themselves teasing the odd name over the few months and putting the fans in a position where they are tossing up between wrestlers who they feel may or may not show up, you feel that they really need to deliver something because if the main event has come around and no one has shown up then it will feel a little bit like false advertising. However with so many different promotions wrestlers already involved in Bound For Glory as well so many free agents out there, the options are literally endless on who we could see. Lets have a look at who we may possibly see show up at Bound For Glory?
5. Davey Richards
We last saw Davey Richards in Impact during the GFW time frame in 2017. He would leave the company after a fantastic mixed tag match with his wife Angelina Love against former Wolves partner Eddie Edwards and Alisha Edwards at Slammiversary 2017. After departing the company Richards would leave the business also to pursue a career as a doctor.
Earlier this year however Davey announced that he would be returning to the ring. We have seen him wrestle for the likes of many independent promotions such as Warrior Wrestling, Glory Pro and MLW, the last of those he has recently stuck around with for the foreseeable future.
MLW was a promotion that was mentioned as the next company that may be the next to join the circle of promotions currently in the Forbidden Door (many Impact talents as well as free agents who appear on Impact work with MLW). If that does happen then this could be the first punch from them plus there’s the perfect spot laid out for him. Given the sad injury to Sami Callihan it does leave a spot beside Eddie Edwards if Impact wish to continue this story. Could you see during the Call Your Shot Gauntlet, Moose heavily beating down Edwards then out comes Davey Richards?
