On this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, we saw a whole load of build towards next AEW PPV All Out. Aside from more matches being created for that card, we saw both a defence of The Good Brothers’s Impact World Tag Team titles and Chris Jericho’s final labor on his way to the much-anticipated match with MJF. So, naturally we have many takeaways from this week’s episode.

A Great Display For Dante Martin

Fans have seen a fair bit of Dante Martin in 2021, mostly on Dark with occasional appearances on Dynamite but often in a losing capacity, that said, he put on a great performance this week.

Trained by Ken Anderson, Dante would this week take on The Elite’s Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks in trios action when teaming with Matt and Mike Sydal. A member of Top Flight, his partner’s absense has allowed Dante to stand out more as a solo act.

Dante was massively impressive, flying across the ring and even outside it – flipping around as if his limbs were replaced with the materials used to make Stretch Armstrongs. Although not eventually victorious, his high-flying domination of the ring truly stood out as he was the talk of Twitter. At the young age at 20, this nimble nipper still hopefully has many wonderful years in front of him.

Cage vs Omega To Clash Twice

With The Young Bucks/Omega trio emerging victorious, a post-match scuffle ensued. In this, Christian Cage did not only reiterate the shot he would have at the AEW title at All Out but made another world title announcement, saying he would have a shot at the Impact belt on Friday’s debut episode of new show Rampage.

Cage has previously interacted with Omega, with Cage confronting Omega a fair few weeks ago on Dynamite, even attempting to hit him with a Killswitch before being saved by Don Callis.

However, it seems that fans are not so happy with the match, perhaps forcing AEW’s hand in changing the All Out match. The absence of Adam Page in the main event match is likely the reason for this resenting of the Canadian ex-WWE World Heavyweight champion.

A favorite of the internet wrestling community, Fuego Del Sol had a lengthy losing streak on AEW Dark, in this time getting over due to his Tornado DDT finisher and appearances on the Sammy Guevara blog.

Finally ending his losing ways, it was announced this week he could potentially become a signed wrestler (as is wanted by a plethora of fans) as long as he beats the unstoppable Miro for the TNT title.

Sting Makes Dynamite In-Ring Debut Next Week

WWE released NXT tag team Ever-Rise a few weeks back and the group have immediately been placed in a top position when facing Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston and Darby Allin in a trios match last week when teaming with Daniel Garcia.

This week, the duo of Matt Lee and Jeff Park – now renamed 2.0 – accompanied “Red Death” Garcia in his match against Allin. After Daniel lost, the former Ever-Rise tried to jump Darby in defense of their pal but such was thwarted by Sting.

It was announced that Sting and his skateboarding ally will take on 2.0 next week. Another huge star to face in the career trajectory of Park and Lee, it will be Sting’s in-ring debut on AEW weekly TV. It does very much feel AEW are spinning plates for Allen whilst trying to find a new storyline for him following up on his feud with Ethan Page.

Paul Wight Causes A Stir

One of the more controversial aspects of the show was the actions of Paul Wight.

Formerly Big Show, Wight came out to interrupt The Factory’s QT Marshall, Nick Comorotto and Aaron Solo. The faction were in the midst of their apology to Tony Schiavone for the drink they had poured over him 2 weeks ago. Wight came out straight to the ring. Marshall pushed Solo into Wight and a Chokeslam as QT and Nick fled the ring. The attack certified Paul as a face – as likely presumed from his commentary on Dark: Elevation.

Wight’s attack has sparked controversy but we have yet to see what will be done with him in AEW.
