5 Takeaways From AEW Dynamite (July 7th 2021)
Aleister Black Debuts
When this year’s batch of releases took place, fans were clammering for some of the talented wastes to debut in AEW. It is likely AEW held off on Aleister Black’s debut to not only show it to a rabid live crowd but produce maximum shock since his wife Zelina Vega only returned to the WWE within the past few days.
Lights blacked out and when they returned, the crowd popped for the former NXT champion in the ring. Decked in black, the menacing Black stood with a warped eye. Now christened Malakia Black, he hit his Black Mass on Nightmare Family head coach Arn Anderson before kicking a hesitant Cody Rhodes.
Clearly a heel, he is now likely to rival Rhodes as Cody moves on from a feud with QT. This seems a good start for Malakia as long as he prevails, not facing the career-halting PPV debut loss to Cody the likes of Shawn Spears and Anthony Ogogo faced.
