5 Takeaways From AEW Dynamite (July 7th 2021)
The Young Bucks Are Dominant Champions
This week, The Young Bucks retained their AEW tag titles against the duo of Eddie Kingston and Penta in a Street Fight tag.
Having now held the belt for 248 days as of writing, The Bucks are the longest reigning titleholders having been the champions since beating FTR at Full Gear 2020. Having had brilliant matches since with the likes of Pac, Fenix, Moxley, SCU, The Varsity Blonds and Top Flight since their win, they have proved to be one of the most consistently reliable talents on the AEW roster.
Although not big in size, they have stayed relevant due to their crazy or extreme spots such as the finish to this match which saw a thumbtacks-fed Kingston get superkicked into oblivion. They have also now got aid from the entire Elite factions with Omega, The Good Brothers, Callis, Nakazawa and Cutler there to aid them all the way as they’ve become more and more heelish in order to retain their title belts.
It seems as if this will be a very long reign as AEW build up the next heroic face team to dethrone the Jackson brothers.
