1. More focus towards the Tag Team Division.
For some time now Impact Wrestling have given the look that their tag team division is rather thin looking. The majority of 2021 saw The Good Brothers, FinJuice and The Bullet Club (Chris Bey and Hikuleo) battling over the titles, VBD where in the picture briefly however only for a month around Slamiversary. When you look at the original 3 teams, only half the talent in those teams are “contracted” as Impact talent. This made Impact’s tag team division feel so thin that Impact needed to bring in other companies teams to fill in the holes.
However if you stand back and look at the landscape, Impact do have a really good tag team division, they just need to be booked in the right way (towards the tag titles). The Good Brothers currently hold the tag team titles however you have VBD, Heath and Rhino and The Souljas all in the chase who are all pure Impact tag teams. Then you go on to remember that there are Decay, Ace and Fulton and The Learning Tree. That’s another 3 contracted Impact tag teams, right there you have a total of 7 teams who are all on the Impact roster.
If you want to go deeper you also now have The Bullet club, who have Chris Bey as a member to give it that Impact flavour. Added to that we have FinJuice too who have been around on Impact for nearly a year now, so they actually feel like an Impact team. With 9 teams able to use, it’s surprising that it very often feels like we don’t have any in Impact. We could very possibly see a push in the tag team division when it comes to making the division feel more competitive. The talent is all there as we can see (even if we didn’t realise), so let’s hope in 2022 we can see another rise of the tag team division.
