4. Forbidden Door Working Well
Throughout 2021 we have seen many companies begin to build relationships with various other promotions. This was mainly a 4 way crossover with Impact, AEW, NJPW and AAA to begin with, however as the year went on we’ve seen NWA get involved with both Impact and AEW also.
We have heard rumours that AEW may have finished their partnership with Impact and when you look at Impact’s use of The Forbidden Door over this past year then you have to ask yourself if this will really change anything? A lot of the focus has been with NJPW and NWA recently and even though AEW presence has always been there, it’s sadly never been utilised either way. If it was no longer there, would anyone notice? That’s one way to think about it.
Impact feel like they have worked out how to utilise the Forbidden Door pretty well now, we are seeing a nice balance of talent come in from NJPW and NWA as well as Impact talent also wrestling for both of those promotions too. We’ve still yet to see a huge amount from AAA however the issues with travelling from country from country could still be hindering that? Going into 2022 it feels like Impact now know what their plan is when it comes to balancing working with other companies talent on their show and placing Impact talent on shows run by other promotions. 2022 will be very interesting with wrestlers possibly popping up more than we’ve seen this year.
