WWE Friday Night Smackdown Results – July 30th, 2021
John Cena kicks off the show and cuts a promo on Reigns being a small kid who refuses to face him. Cena says he respects Finn Balor but Reigns sucks. Baron Corbin interrupted Cena and tells his sad story to him. Cena gave him some money but Corbin wanted more than money and he asked Cena to give him a role in Cena’s upcoming movie ‘The Suicide Squad’ and he calls Cena a Hollywood Sellout. Cena gives him an Attitude Adjustment and leaves.
Jimmy Uso w/Jey Uso Vs. Rey Mysterio w/Dominik
Both men goes back and forth at the start of the match. Mysterio tries to perform the slide splash on Jimmy but Jimmy counters it with a superkick as we go for commercial. After the break, Mysterio picks up the pace and hits Jimmy with a crossbody for two count.
Rey sets up Jimmy for 619 but Jey pulls out Jimmy and Rey performs the corkscrew plancha on The Usos outside the ring. Rey hits the 619 on Jey and tries to hit Jimmy with the same but Jimmy counters it, Rey surprises Jimmy with a roll up and Dominik supported Rey the same way The Usos did in the past week to steal the titles from them. Rey wins the match.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
Bianca Belair is standing in the ring with Kayla Braxton. Kayla congratulates Bianca that she surpassed 100 days as the Smackdown’s Women Champion. Carmella interrupted them and challenges Bianca for the title one more time. Zelina Vega joins them as well and calls Carmella a loser. Zelina attacks Bianca and Carmella joins her. Sasha Banks music hits and she ran down to the ring and saves Bianca and hugs her and Bianca looked surprised by this.
Reginald (c) Vs. Chad Gable w/Otis – 24/7 Championship
Before the match even started Otis attacked Reggie. Gable takes control over Reggie at the start of the match. Reggie shows some athleticism and turn the tides. But Otis attacked him to cause the disqualification.
Winner by DQ: Reginald
After the match, Otis tries to throw him outside the ring, but Reggie once again show his athleticism and landed on his feet.
Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville is standing in the ring for the SummerSlam contract signing between Reigns and Balor for the title. Reigns told Balor that if je signs the contract he is going to smash him and send him back to NXT. Corbin attacks Balor out of nowhere and grabs the contract and just before Corbin was set to steal the spot from Balor, Cena comes down and attack Corbin and signs the contract and now it’s official that Reigns and Cena will face each other at SummerSlam.
Backstage, Heyman walks up to Adam Pearce & Sonya Deville to talk about the main event of SummerSlam and Heyman told them that it’s Finn Balor written in there. But Pearce and Deville said that they can see the signatures of Reigns and Cena and it’s official.
Big E, Cesaro & King Nakamura Vs. The Dirty Dawgs & Apollo Crews w/Commander Azeez
Cesaro performs the Swing on Ziggler followed with a Sharpshooter, but Roode pulls Ziggler to the ropes to break the hold. Cesaro tags Nakamura in, as he tries to hit Kinsasha, but Ziggler counters it with a Zig Zag. All men enters te ring and perform their signatures on each other. Nakamura hits the Kinsasha on Crews for the victory.
Winner: Big E, Cesaro & King Nakamura
Edge music hits and the crowd goes nuts as the Rated R Superstar made his way down to the ring and we go for commercial.
After the break, we saw Seth Rollins standing in the ring because during the commercial Rollins brutally attacked Edge during his way down to the ring. Rollins hits Edge with the camera as the officials came out to stop Rollins and checks Edge condition.
Rollins tells the crowd to shut up and rolls the footage of him costing Edge the title at MITB. Rollins says that if he can’t be Universal Champion then Edge shouldn’t be the champion as well.
Bianca Belair & Sasha Banks Vs. Carmella & Zelina Vega
Banks and Belair takes control over Vega and Carmella at the start of the match as we go for commercial. After the break, Vega took control over Bianca and locks her in the submission hold. Vega tags Carmella in, and the heels are completely under control of the match. Bianca hits a backbreaker on Vega and tags Banks in.
Banks is all fired up as she performs the three amigos on Vega followed with a Frog splash. Carmella kicks Banks in the face to break the pinfall. Carmella tags in, but Banks locks her in the Banks Statement and Carmella taps out.
Winner: Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair
After the match, Sasha attacks Bianca an puts her in the Banks statement and Bianca taps out. Banks put her in the banks statement one more time as Bianca continuously taps out and the show goes off air.
