It is now being reported that Toni Storm had asked for her release and that WWE granted it for her.
Those that I spoke to within WWE believe Toni Storm asked for her release from the company, though I'm also making an effort to reach out to those close to her. The memo that went out did not list budget cuts as the reason, as has been tradition of late.

This comes as a true shock to most as Toni Storm had just come off a main event program with Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Woman’s Title on Friday and was involved in Triple threat matches for that same title with Sasha Banks and Charlotte on the Holiday Tour.
We at Wrestlebuddy wish Toni nothing but the best and look forward to seeing her continue her career in the near future.
