Coming fresh off their best overall pay per view since their inception with Revolution, AEW was looking to deliver a solid Dynamite. Unfortunately, they didn’t quite deliver the kind of show we have come to expect as of late from the company but in the end, they were still able to accomplish a decent amount. This was a very promo/interview heavy show and the action itself didn’t really compare to what we have to come to expect either. With that, let us move right into the 5 biggest takeaways from this week’s AEW Dynamite!
5: Regal/Danielson/Mox
Mox told Danielson he doesn’t fight with anyone until he has bled with em. It would take a stern scolding from William Regal to get these two to finally get on the same page after their war to realize they should come together as a team. And that is exactly what happened when the two wasted no time teaming up with one another as they took on The Workhorsemen in tag team action this week. After dispatching of their opponents rather easily, Regal would take the microphone and run down exactly why it is he came to AEW and more importantly why he is aligned with Danielson and Mox. He has a history with both and sees himself in them as well. Danielson is the wrestler he should have been and Moxley is the kind of guy that compliments Danielson’s talents very well. He gave the warning to all the other teams that this was not a team to be trifled before exiting to the back.

It was nice that they touched on their history but it didn’t quite line up with what Danielson had initially reached out to Mox for. Are they there to teach the talent a lesson and make them bend the knee from violence? Or have they shifted gears with the arrival of Regal?
4: Jeff Hardy is All Elite
The worst kept secret in wrestling this year has been, what will Jeff Hardy do next after his release from the WWE. Since the day it happened, fans have been sure of the fact that Jeff would be reuniting with his brother Matt in All Elite Wrestling.
Matt has been teasing it for weeks and this week, the debut finally happened. After getting kicked out of the AHFO by Andrade and the rest of the group, he would be saved by Sting, Darby Allin and Jeff Hardy. Now all the dream matches from the young talent can happen with Jeff as he has been on a lot of their lists of dream opponents. Let the final Hardy Boys run begin!
3: Cowboy Shit
The one thing I can absolutely praise about this week’s Dynamite is the amount of time they invested in their World Champion, Adam Page. Since it’s win over Omega, he has been the second, third and sometimes even fourth act on the show. He has not been booked as a proper champion, face of the company for the most part and I’ve been saying that needs to change before the fans turn on him and his run turns bad.
This week, Adam Page had the first match of the night and put on a good enough bout with Dante Martin. After winning, Hangman would put over Martin before being interrupted by Adam Cole. This back and forth between the Adam’s led to a 6 man tag match that will take place next week. This is the first time as champion that AEW is building the show around THEIR guy. A match that lead to a segment that then lead to another segment where his current feud with Adam Cole would continue on.
After big losses for @adamcolepro, #reDRagon & #YoungBucks at #AEWRevolution, Adam Cole BAY BAY announces his tag partners for the 6-man tag against #AEW World Champion @theAdamPage + two men of Hangman's choice!

What happened next was Hangman Page getting ANOTHER segment on the show with the Dark Order that had him breaking the news that he was choosing Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus for his match next week, leading the Dark Order to feel a certain kind of way. We are getting layers to this story, and it wouldn’t end there for the evening. Adam Cole would get a segment later in which he teased the Young Bucks as his partners next week only for them to say they want nothing to do with going up against Hangman Page. MORE LAYERS! AEW has to be given some credit here for turning around a Title reign that had very little substance to start off and quickly turn it into a multi layered story that will surely be a major focal point for the company moving forward. We are finally getting some Cowboy Shit!
2: Return of St. Patrick’s Day Slam
Last year’s St. Patrick’s Day Slam was a big hit due to one match in particular. Britt Baker versus Thunder Rosa’s lights out match was a massive success for the company and would even be the performance Britt needed to catapult her into her current Women’s Championship title reign, even though she lost. Baker was given the ball to run with and she hasn’t looked back since. Thunder Rosa would have to build herself back up after disappearing from the company for a minute and has now finally reached the top again.
After losing to Britt Baker at Revolution, Rosa would get a chance to get her hands on Britt again if she could take out Leyla Hirsch on Dynamite. Well, Thunder did, and the announcement was then made. Next week, on this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Slam, Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker will be in the main event yet again. Only this time it will be in a cage and the title will be on the line… in Thunder’s hometown. This will no doubt be Thunder Rosa’s crowning moment in AEW and the decision to hold that off an extra week to make that moment for her all the more special.
1: Sky is the Limit
Scorpio Sky is one of the first people to sign with AEW. He was one half of the first ever tag team champs but once he lost those and parted ways with SCU, his run has been very forgettable.
He won the first “face of the Revolution” ladder match but was unable to capitalize on that when he failed to win the TNT Championship. He would spend the next year teaming up with Ethan Page doing much of nothing other than racking up a bunch of wins on Dark and Elevation. Well now, his time has come. Even it does feel a bit forced, they have thrown the TNT Title on him after he was able to defeat Sammy Guevara for the championship.

This is a moment that was a long time coming and had they pushed Sky more on Dynamite, it might have been something they not only could have done sooner but also did more organically. Now we will have to wait a week to know if this will be a real run for Scorpio or if they are just using him as a transitional champion to protect Sammy from the monster that awaits the TNT title next week… Wardlow. I wish Scorpio Sky good luck and hope there is a plan in place for him to get a chance to do something special with the belt, but it’s not looking good for him in the very near future.
