Triple H made NXT much more than a developmental brand of WWE that one time it was considered as one of the best wrestling shows all around the world. But then, Vince took over the NXT and rebranded the black & gold brand into a much more colorful NXT 2.0 where only young wrestlers will get a chance to shine.
A month ago Hunter took back the charge of WWE Creative and every single fan around the world was waiting that when they’ll see a change in NXT 2.0. Finally, the D-Day arrived yesterday on the occassion of One-year anniversary of NXT 2.0 where they revealed a brand NEW Logo of NXT 3.0 with no 2.0 mentioned below the logo & white & gold.
So today we will talk about the 5 possibilities we might see with this rebranding of NXT 2.0/3.0
1. Magnify the importance of NXT
Make it feel bigger than developmental reminiscent of the original black & gold brand, yet not entirely the same. Capitalize on your positives from NXT 2.0 & continue to highlight these stars. Give audiences that appeal of we’re more than some third entity for WWE! Build NXT into a must-see product again than ever before. I realize time & patience are needed. The brand’s respected value should never diminish.
2. Wrestlers’ fans believe in.
I’m not disparaging any specific NXT wrestler by saying everybody has to be a copy regarding each persona. For example, if someone is watching? I want a wrestler who piques the interest & provides logical gimmicks. Often characters damage their credibility on TV. Let me explain, sure wrestling possesses entertainment facets. Those qualities are essential & one must connect with the wrestler before wrestling. Here’s where things get sideways about the presentation. You can update NXT with a variety but don’t give me another Raw or SmackDown. Allow NXT to be an alternative from Monday & Friday nights! It attaches itself to that first potential change I said before.
3. Takeovers held outside of Orlando:
NXT Takeovers will likely return outside of Orlando, FL, once more. Shawn Michaels & Triple H know more than I or any fan what made this brand unique. NXT UK offered British & American fan bases great enjoyment of that brand. Cardiff was a monumental success for WWE with Clash at the Castle earlier this month. We know NXT Europe is coming. Think of TakeOvers Berlin, Tokyo, Amsterdam & additional locations. Such events compute a meaningful atmosphere.
4. Hold crossover appeal to a minimum:
Worlds Collide was good & I liked the concept. Dream matches are one illustration fans clamor for which I’m putting myself in the conversation. An underlying problem threatens when relying on wrestlers from Raw & SmackDown cause it exposes your product. Young talented pro-wrestlers invariably evolve mainly because established wrestlers help get them over. On numerous occasions, you can usually tell if a wrestler is successful by watching crowd reactions and how skilled they are in-ring, on a microphone, etc. The issue then becomes if this character engages in solid matches with or without the star’s assistance. What separates them from others & why should people care? NXT wrestlers show viewers believability & get me to suspend my disbelief.
5. NXT 3.0: respect the past.
Positive & hopeful change speaks volumes for any wrestling promotion. Listen NXT experimented via 2.0 & there were ups & downs along the way. Revisionist history sometimes confuses the wrestling society. The Black & Gold brand was only the start of a collective idea involving Dusty Rhodes’ vision that Triple H & others continued. Territories molded icons; wrestlers improved upon learning under “ The American Dream “ Pat Patterson, William Regal, Triple H & Shawn Michaels & selected mentors/ teachers who crafted together a training ground/ regional territory, the difference being WWE backed it. Ohio Valley Wrestling deserves countless accolades for NXT even existing.
Danny Davis, Jim Cornette, & Rip Rogers educated professional wrestlers that aided WWE immensely. Remember, the company desired new transcenders & before NXT, OVW gave us John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, & Batista. So, this strategy originated from that developmental system. & it evolved. Future hall of farmers such as Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Gunther, Tomasso Ciampa, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Rhea Ripley, Wrestling companies flourish thanks to professional development programs. Look at the current Raw & SmackDown rosters ahead of Triple H’s leading creative.
Under Vince McMahon, Kevin Owens, Austin Theory, & Matt Riddle are NXT alums who adapted well to Vince’s creativity. Triple H supporting them helped, but they had to prove themselves to Vince. For NXT, utilize your bright spots & paint a new portrait of sensible productivity. Completely repairing the system will not automatically fix NXT. It’s a procedure that accentuates exciting possibilities from this moment forward. Reward the main-event wrestlers & upper mid-card as well. Let me clarify, do not give them hand-outs either. Keep investing in their equity, for they represent the future. Examples are these current stars Carmelo Hayes, Mandy Rose, Bron Breakker, Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade, Zoey Stark, The Creed Brothers, Toxic Attraction, & Cameron Grimes, Tyler Bate, Blair Davenport, & Alba Fyre.
NXT 3.0 will be interesting .
