Multiple wrestling news outlets are reporting about a hot topic that has made recent headlines.
We have learned via the professional wrestling media regarding WWE contacting AEW talent. These mid-August reports became more legitimized when the company approached one AEW star. Since Triple H (Paul Levesque) acquired creative & talent relations in WWE, more hypothetical information leads to numerous questions about which wrestler from AEW would return to WWE. One decisive factor might indicate the backstage chaos in AEW’s locker room following All Out & talent who are unhappy with their creativity. Malakai Black’s parting from All-Elite Wrestling only added fuel to this rumored fire. House of Black colleague Buddy Matthews reportedly finished with the promotion. According to notable wrestling publication & journalist Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp updated everyone on the situation on Monday. He addressed such rumors & named the involved wrestling dignitaries.
The list of revealed names;
1. Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee:
WWE first contacted Swerve Strickland because the group he was a member of the Hit Row group. They currently had returned on Friday Night SmackDown. From all accounts, Swerve wasn’t interested & assigned the contract offer to his attorney. His tag team partner Keith Lee did not receive any form of communication from WWE, despite stories that led us to believe that.
2. Miro:
The former TNT Champion & three-time United States Champion Miro was brought up in conversations. However, Sapp mentioned the uncertainty regarding this gossip and whether or not WWE reached out to him. He was formerly Rusev there before debuting in AEW! The Bulgarian superstar had not asked for his release either. An independent report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer implied Miro showed no desire to make a WWE come back.
Here’s a quote by Meltzer
“ Miro does not want to go back. The only guys that want to go back are the ones who have significant others with the company. “
3. FTR, Buddy Matthews & Malakai Black:
Sapp also informed readers that FTR is among the wrestlers WWE contacted and had no update concerning the matter as of now. On the Buddy Matthews story,
“ At least one AEW source believes that we’ll end up seeing Buddy Matthews & Malakai Black back in the company within a few months, and said that AEW had no intention of releasing Black to go elsewhere last month.
“
4. Bobby Fish, Adam Cole, & Kyle O’ Reilly
Lastly, Sapp discussed the hearsay surrounding Bobby Fish, who departed AEW over disagreements about a new contact. Fans have since observed Fish make his Impact Wrestling debut. He pushed for Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly to leave All-Elite Wrestling. Sources in the company deny such a rumor. WWE claimed there were no negotiations between them & Fish. Adam Cole is currently under a long-term deal with AEW & O’Reilly recently had neck fusion surgery.
Professional wrestling steadily keeps us talking. This profession maintains as much interest behind the scenes as it does in the ring.
