WWE’s sinking ratings is an alarming situation for the company, while it’s competitor AEW is gaining a foothold around the world. Now, reports suggested that WWE lost a TV deal and got replaced by AEW in Italy.

According to Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio, Italy is dropping WWE and replacing it with AEW.

“Did you hear about the Italy deal? WWE lost their TV with Sky in Italy. The different Sky Networks are dropping them in the UK and they’re dropping them for a combined of the high price that WWE charged and the low ratings that they delivered which is sounding familiar. So, Sky in Italy dropped them and picked up AEW. So, AEW is going to start there on July 31st.”

AEW has a loyal fan base in UK & Europe and they were planning to hold Fyter Fest in UK this year but due to COVID-19 pandemic, it got cancelled. Now foreign countries are getting attracted to AEW for pro wrestling content because they’re not over priced like WWE. AEW will soon have a new fan base in Italy as Sky will replace WWE content with AEW Dynamite every week.
