In a significant development for wrestling fans, SEScoops has reported that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) have reached an agreement in principle concerning a new media rights deal. This deal, if finalized, is expected to see AEW pay-per-views (PPVs) and other content move to the MAX streaming platform.

The news comes as a welcome surprise for many fans who have found the costs of AEW’s nearly monthly PPVs prohibitive. The potential shift to MAX could offer a more affordable, subscription-based option similar to WWE’s model, which has seen success first with the WWE Network and currently with Peacock at a much lower price point than AEW’s current PPV prices.

PWN, while unable to confirm the report independently, reached out to AEW for clarity.

“The one person in AEW I spoke with could not confirm this report,” said a representative from PWN. “Since this report does not confirm anything is signed, and since AEW PR have not gotten back to me, I will not say this is a done deal, but very much expected from many within the industry.”

The idea of AEW content arriving on MAX has been a hot topic among internet forums for some time. Many fans have already assumed that any new media rights deal with WBD would likely include a streaming component. AEW’s President, Tony Khan, has also expressed interest in placing AEW shows on WBD’s streaming platform on multiple occasions.

It is worth noting that AEW already has content available on MAX, though this is currently limited to specific regions in Europe, rather than being accessible worldwide.

While this report does not confirm that a deal has been signed, the expectation within the industry is clear: a streaming option for AEW content on MAX appears to be highly anticipated.

As we await further confirmation from AEW’s public relations team, the potential agreement continues to generate excitement and speculation about the future accessibility and affordability of AEW content for the US audience.

For now, fans remain hopeful that this new deal will indeed come to fruition, bringing AEW pay-per-views and additional content to MAX and enhancing the viewing experience for wrestling enthusiasts.
