Jey Uso has become a powerhouse on the singles circuit in WWE, captivating audiences with his charisma and in-ring prowess. Dubbed “The Yeet Man,” Jey has carved out a significant fanbase, with crowds cheering fervently for his every move. His journey from a tag team specialist to a formidable singles competitor has been remarkable, and his newfound independence has afforded him opportunities to showcase his unique talents on a grander stage.
However, despite his success, there have been moments of creative uncertainty regarding his storyline direction. According to WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, Jey’s father, speaking on the “Off the Top” podcast, this has been a point of contention. Rikishi remarked, “I’m at this point where I want to call my son (Jey Uso), ‘Go ahead and take a break. Obviously, the writers don’t know where to put you, or they can write something that is right for the character Jey Uso, The Yeet Man.’”
Rikishi believes that Jey’s talent is undeniable and extends beyond WWE’s boundaries. “The kid (Jey Uso) is so good, WWE ain’t the only spot,” Rikishi continued. “He could probably go to AEW if he wants to write his own ticket, maybe more than what WWE is making on him….. Hopefully, they turn it around and do the right thing by The Yeet Man.”
Rikishi’s comments open up intriguing possibilities for Jey Uso’s career trajectory. Could Jey take a hiatus to reassess and re-strategize, potentially considering opportunities outside WWE? His marketability and skill set certainly position him well for ventures into other wrestling promotions such as AEW, where creative freedom is often touted.
From his cousin Roman Reigns’ dominant reign to Jey’s solo feats, The Bloodline has been a compelling storyline in WWE. However, for The Yeet Man, the next step might involve exploring different creative realms to maintain his momentum and passion for wrestling. Whether he remains in WWE or seeks new horizons, Jey Uso’s journey is worth watching as he continues to be a dynamic presence in the wrestling world. Fans and analysts alike will be eager to see how WWE addresses his storyline and whether they align with Rikishi’s hopes for Jey’s future.
