WWE Backlash has been a staple of WWE for over a decade, and while it has had some truly incredible moments, there are others that fans wish they could forget. While its position on the calendar year has frequently been moved around. After having the ‘Greatest Wrestling Match Ever’ last year, this year the name of this pay-per-view has been changed as Wrestlemania Backlash.

Throughout the history of Backlash, there have been some great moments with many classic matches taking place at this event. Of course, to counterbalance that there have also been some forgettable matches as well. From 1999 to 2009 – as well as 2016’s impressive return to the yearly schedule – we will talk about Top 10 WWE Backlash PPVs of all time.

10. WWE Backlash 2005

The Number 10 spot belongs to WWE Backlash 2005. The match card of Backlash 2005 did looks pretty stacked on the paper, but when it comes to reality it was just a underwhelming PPV with few decent bouts.

The main event was Triple H Vs Batista for the World Heavyweight Title, where Batista retained his title and culminate his feud with the Hunter on the next PPV Vengeance in a brutal Hell in a Cell match. The undercard had one decent match and it was Chris benoit Vs. Edge in a Last man Standing match, where Edge came out victorious.

Rest of the card including Hulk Hogan & Shawn Michaels Vs. Muhammad Hassan & Daivari was just terrible to watch. Kane Vs. Viscera had one of the worst matches of all time and Tag team turmoil match just shows that how Vince killed the tag team wrestling in WWE.
