Which is the better pro wrestling company: WWE or AEW? Fans keep fighting in this topic almost every single day on social media. AEW already won heart of wrestling fans by listening to them and give them what they want, on the other hand WWE is not able sustain it’s quality and face backlash because of some horrible booking decisions in the past few years.
Both the companies saw a decline in viewership due to pandemic. But AEW came out victorious in the Wednesday Night Wars with WWE newest introduced brand NXT. Now, AEW is the only wrestling show on the Wednesdays and NXT moved on to Tuesdays. It’s a win-win situation for fans as they can watch both shows without changing the channels.
All in all, it has been a mixed bag for both companies. But which promotion stood out as the better pro wrestling company, Let’s find out.
1. AEW: Factions / Stables
The very first reason why AEW is better than WWE is the galore of factions. AEW introduced their first and the most iconic faction at the very first episode of Dynamite. Yes!! We are talking about the ‘Le Champion’ faction The Inner Circle. Inner Circle have been the center of AEW since it’s inception and there are other factions as well which get ample amount of TV time like The Elite, Best Friends, Dark Order, Hardy’s Family Office, The Death Triangle and newly made The Pinnacle.
If you compare WWE in factions, other than The Hurt Business which has been already broke up, they have nothing promising as of now. After the end of The Shield, WWE is not able to make any faction which delivers it’s promise. RETRIBUTION show some promise but after the revelation of the leader (Mustafa Ali), this stable’s momentum just got derailed. However, fans are hoping to see a new heel stable soon as ‘The Bloodline’ including Roman Reigns, Jimmy & Jey Uso with Paul Heyman in Smackdown. Let’s hope for WWE that this stable delivers it’s promise.
