Current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley told the podcast named ‘My Mom Basement’ that his encounter with ‘Hunter’ at WWE Roadblock 2016 was his favorite WWE moment.

Roadblock 2016 happened just few weeks before WrestleMania 32, and the house show-like setting really appealed to Moxley – he said he loved the stripped down, old-school “NWA Mid-South” feel of the night. That’s why he enjoyed it as his most memorable WWE match.

Mox also loved the vibe in the locker room before having a match with Triple H. He admitted that neither man wanted to show deference to the other by going over what spots they’d work in-ring. So, Moxley turned up “really late” and waited on for someone to come and tell him that ‘Hunter’ wanted to talk.

When they finally did get together, both found they shared a similar outlook on how matches should be structured and ended up having a lots of fun. Mox claims he’d rather have had more matches like that in WWE than on “overproduced” WrestleMania card stadium specials.

Roadblock 2016 was the kind of thing Moxley wanted to do more of in the company.
