On this week’s episode of RAW, Seth Rollins was unexpectedly ambushed by Bronson Reed during his segment with CM Punk. Meanwhile, Dakota Kai faced a surprise attack backstage by Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark.

Renowned wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reported via Wrestling Observer Radio that both incidents might be more than just storyline developments. He revealed, “I don’t know how serious, but I asked if those (angles with Seth Rollins & Dakota Kai) were storyline covers for injuries and I was told they BOTH were. But Seth is not in a bad situation, Seth is cleared to wrestle but he’s banged up, so it was a good time for him to take time off. I don’t know if he’ll be back for the PPV against Bronson Reed.”

The report indicates these ambushes may serve as a cover for real-life injuries, allowing necessary recovery time for both athletes. Rollins and Kai’s health are pivotal for WWE’s plans moving forward, as Rollins is a central figure expected to face Reed in an upcoming PPV.
