2. An Undead Church?
Back in June we saw Deonna Purrazzo sever ties with Susan and Kimber Lee. As time went on we started
to see a change in both Knockouts, however the most notable was when Susan stated (after Kimber
recalled the Su Yung character), “I was always aware of her.” We then saw Susan take Kimber into the
Undead realm and turn her into a version of one of her former Undead Bridesmaid.
From here it would have been very easy to feel that it could have gone 1 of 2 ways. It could have either
gone into a simple tag team (which at that time 3 months ago Impact really needed), or it could have gone
in the direction of one of these Knockouts going to challenge Deonna for the Knockouts title, either Su
Yung or having Kimber with Yung controlling her in the background would have ben great story telling
and both made sense if Deonna did lose.
As time has gone on however it feels like Impact is going in a direction which is combining the previous
2 directions. This past week we officially saw Brandi Lauren look to be added into Su Yungs Undead
Briedsmaids. This was Lauren’s first appearance in Impact since her departure in 2018 however this story
development really looks to be a sign that we have her around for a while. With Kimber also saying
“there is more to come” who knows where this may end?
There is a chance we could see a Knockouts version of The New Church stable from back in the day and
(especially as Yung isn’t known for her promo’s under that character) maybe a returning James Mitchell
or a debuting Bray Wyatt could be the figure head? There’s a lot of promise here and any version of the 3
Knockouts who are currently are in the group will be great in the Tag division together and whoever else
they bring in will surely make things interesting for the Knockouts.
