AEW witnessed another premier star injured after All Out on Sunday night ( September 4). Christian Cage wears an arm brace for his scheduled match opposite Jungle boy. Considering the wrestler was not 100 percent leading into this grudge fight, & it explains why the contest was brief.
For those watching or reading online, Luchasuarus attacked his former tag team partner before the match started. He chokes slammed Jack Perry off the stage area. Then the big man returns Jungle Boy to the ring, where Christian finishes off his rival. 1-2-3 & that referee could have counted 100.
Following All Out, On last night’s episode of Dynamite, Jungle Boy spoke about Christian Cage needing surgery. To anyone’s knowledge, this was the first we heard concerning an injury.
In today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer remarked that Cage is to miss 6 -9 months of wrestling action. He added that Christian needed time off so his torn triceps could heal. It’s similar to Punk’s injury.
Paraphrasing Dave’s comments: Meltzer exclaimed, “ his injury may be the same as Punk. We are discussing like eight months or six months regarding him being out.
