Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch had a confrontation backstage after the title swap segment at Friday Night Smackdown which did not go down well as it was planned. ,Charlotte went off-script and drops the title instead of handing over the same to Becky.

According to PWInsider, Flair “allegedly disrespecting Lynch by trying to make her look bad”, and there was a “heated” situation and “loud words” exchanged. Thankfully, it never got physical. It was further noted that Sasha Banks was undermined by how Flair treated the segment.

There is heat on Flair in certain circles for disrespecting Lynch and some who felt Flair took a segment that was supposed to build herself vs. Sasha Banks and instead put all the attention back on herself and Lynch when Banks was being placed in a position to be the top babyface for the Smackdown brand.  There are some who felt this undermined Banks, whether that was a planned strategy or not.

Later, Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT reported that, Charlotte even disrespected Vince McMahon by leaving the gorilla position without talking to him.

“Flair walked away and Vince McMahon wasn’t happy Charlotte left gorilla without talking to him. Flair is now heading to Orlando to support Andrade at AEW Dynamite.”

Dave Meltzer discussed this situation during Wrestling Observer Radio, where he said that Charlotte claimed that the incident was an accident and it was not intentional. But no one believed her and she was escorted out of the building by security. He proposed that WWE will not gonna fire Charlotte but they might suspend her. But, in the end it all depends on Vince.

As far as what’s gonna happen to [Flair] I mean they’ll make a ruling. They’ll either suspend her or they won’t. It’s a weird situation, because they can fire her, but if they do then she’s going to AEW and they don’t want that — or maybe they do want that, but the impression I got is that they don’t want that. So, I don’t know how it’s going to be handled they could suspend her or have her apologize, who knows? My impression is that Andrade’s tweet was regarding her.’

Later, PWTorch spoke to multiple sources within WWE and the locker room did side with Becky Lynch in this situation. It was stated that an unnamed Superstar dubbed Lynch as “a hero” because she stood up to Flair.

It was additionally reported that, “No other women want to work with her now.” Charlotte Flair has become “increasingly difficult to work with.” Where Becky Lynch is well-liked, nobody wants to wrestle Charlotte Flair.

According to Fightful Select, Charlotte was pulling for Bianca Belair to beat her for the RAW Women’s title and with the outcome she was unhappy and very vocal about the creatives.

There were members of the roster that challenged the idea that Charlotte “campaigned” to lose to Bianca Belair on Monday, although she seemed fine losing the match. We’re told that Charlotte has been outspoken about creative, regardless.

As of this writing, Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio noted that this situation is now a very tricky situation and still its unclear that what WWE decides to do with Charlotte.

“It was noted to us that ‘It’s a tricky situation, isn’t it? Does WWE just hand her over to AEW?’ They note if she is disciplined then they would seemingly also have to discipline others over their backstage behavior. ‘They have their hands full with this situation.’”

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, noted that after the incident Sonya Deville was so mad that she wanted to fight with Charlotte.

“Two different sources described Sonya Deville as ‘mad enough to want to fight Flair’ and at one point, also having an argument with Flair backstage at Smackdown.”

Still the situation is very unclear and we just have to wait and see what WWE will decide. What are your thoughts on this incident. Let us know in the comments section below
