IMPACT Wrestling’s Against All Odds Full Results – 12th June 2021

Sami Callihan & Tommy Dreamer Vs. The Good BrothersStreet Fight

Although Callihan was not granted a world title shout against Omega, he was given some compensation when booked with Dreamer to take on The Good Brothers.

A huge brawl, there are weapons used nearly straight away with chairs, cooking sheets and the ring bell used amongst other violent instruments. The more hardcore side had most of the advantage but The Brothers had their time also. Soon, there were many close falls including a Magic Killer through a table broke up by Callihan. Sami gets the victory with a well-placed bat shot, becoming the #1 contender for Omega at Slammiversary.

Winner: Sami Callihan & Tommy Dreamer

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Satoshi Kojima vs Joe Doering

A match that has taken place before, we see a rematch as the Japanese icon wrestled the towering Doering in Kojima’s Impact! Wrestling debut.

Doering is dominant in the early going, getting the heat including working over his old rivals back. The Japanese star gets some close falls with a crossbody and Koji Cutter. A lariat attempt is thwarted with a Spinning Powerbomb with which Doering gets the win in a bout filled with Japanese strong style.

Either way the ending would be controversial but I respect that Impact put over the newer star they are intending to push and Kojima did not at all look weak.

Winner: Joe Doering

Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars

Ace Austin Vs. Trey Miguel Vs. Rohit Raju Vs. Petey Williams Vs. Chris Bey – 5 Way #1 Contender’s Match

Every men had their time in the spotlight, but Miguel made the most of the moment by. Some wild spots occurred in the match including an avalanche Canadian Destroyer on Ace Austin. Miguel broke it all up and ascended up top, but was met with surprise by Madman Fulton.

With complete disregard for any sense of structure, Fulton destroyed every challenger in the ring and it prompted the official to end the bout in a no contest. Josh Mathews on commentary teased the the viewers by encouraging them to tune in next Thursday to get some answers as to what’s next for the X-Division. The result of this match is most likely a one step ahead for the ‘King of the Mountan’ match at Slammiversary for the title.

Winner: No Contest

Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars

Rich Swann Vs. W.Morrissey

Rich showed some scrappiness against Morrissey as he used his speed and athleticism to down W. Size and strength came to the former Big Cass’ advantage as the tide turned with a big boot mid-match. Morrissey remained in control, but Swann once more fired back with some of his high-flying arsenal.

He ends up hitting Morrissey with his Phoenix Splash, but Morrissey kicks out by picking Rich up with an F5. Swann kicks himself a little bit of leeway, but a low boot to the spine downs the former champ once more. This led to not one, but two powerbombs by W. Rich taunts W. from the canvas and Morrissey delivers one more massive powerbomb for the pinfall win.

Winner: W. Morrissey

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 Stars.

Fire N Flava (Tasha Steelz & Kiera Hogan) (c) vs Kimber Lee & Susan – Knockouts Tag Team Championships

With a heel vs heel match, the face dynamic was altered as FNF were the default faces. Tasha Steelz was worked over for the most until getting the hot tag to Kiera Hogan.

Soon after, it all broke down as if tornado tag and with many close calls. In the end, Hogan hit the Frog Splash onto Susan to get the win for her team in this very trash talk-heavy contest (and likely the correct result).

Winner: Fire N Flava (Retained)

Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars

Violent By Design (Rhino & Cody Deaner) (c) vs Decay (Crazzy Steve & Black Taurus)

This match was set up after Crazzy Steve told Cody Deaner he was the better student of Eric Young, which triggered Deane enough to lay out this match.

With Steve in Deaner’s head, Cody would lose the advantage when legal whilst when Rhino was legal, VBD would be on top. Deaner survived a crossface and tornado pedigree from Steve. Taurus came in but snuffed off by Rhino.

In the end however, a well-placed Eric Young distraction opened the doors for a Deaner DDT on Steve for the pinfall win.

Winner: Violent By Design (Retain)Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Stars

Deonna Purrazzo (c) Vs. Rosemary – Knockouts Championship

Rosemary started off the battle hot with some hair tosses and sling blades. She follows that up with her patented “upside down” tarantula in the corner.

Deonna trapped Rosemary’s arm into a barricade and then began using the art of ring psychology to make it a remaining focus of the fight. Rosemary refuses to relent and gets technical with Purrazzo too as she applies several submissions that includes a modified STF and a vice grip.

Deonna got dirty as she went after the knee brace of Rosemary, but the Decay member fired back with a spear. Deonna however, gets the win with a well-placed piledriver.

Something of note during commentary happened to by Josh Mathews when he took a good moment to talk about Britt Baker becoming the new AEW Women’s Champion and how she and Purrazzo have a competitive relationship with one another.

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Stars

A video package was played for Steve Maclin.

Kenny Omega (c) Vs. Moose

Moose overpowers Omega at the start of the match. Omega turn the table when he hits Moose in his arm and then he starts working on Moose’s injured arm. Moose tries to hit the discuss lariat but Omega counters it into an armbar. Moose fights back and breaks the hold.

Omega hits the snap suplex followed with two running knee attack on Moose. Both men goes back and forth & Omega takes control over Moose once again by hitting the injured arm of Moose. Omega sets Moose up for One Winged Angel after few V triggers, but Moose counters and hits the discuss lariat on Omega.

Omega hits the V Trigger again and goes to the top, but Moose climbs up and hits the Spanish fly and covers him. Omega kicks out at two. Moose sets Omega up for spear but accidentally hits the ref. The Young Bucks came down to the ring and hits Moose with superkicks followed with BTE. Bucks helped Omega to hit Moose with the One Winged Angel for the victory.

Winner: Kenny Omega

Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

After the match, the lights went out and when it came back, Sami Callihan is standing in the ring with the baseball bat in his hand. Callihan attacks the bucks and Omega with the bat. Don Callis interrupted Callihan and tells him that he is the boss of Callihan, if he will attack his family, there’ll be consequences.

Callihan brought up the chair and he was going to hit the bat onto the chair above Omega’s face, just before he hits it, Callis fired him. Callihan yells ‘BS” and Scott D’more argues with Callis to end the show.
