Welcome back guys, It’s time for WB Weekly Report, where we share all the top news from the entire week.

1. Jimmy BETRAYS Jey, Roman RETAINS.

After a lengthy span of three years, we were on the brink of witnessing the climax of one of professional wrestling’s most remarkable narratives. Jey Uso, pitted against his own cousin Roman Reigns, was set to contend for the prestigious Undisputed WWE Universal Title in a highly anticipated Tribal Combat Match at the grand stage of SummerSlam.

The animosity between Jey and Roman has deep roots, originating in 2020 when Reigns coerced Jey into conceding defeat during a grueling Hell in a Cell match, subsequently ascending as the Tribal Chief. Over the years, Reigns successfully defended his championship against formidable adversaries such as Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar, often with the backing of the formidable Bloodline faction. However, their alliance crumbled during a pivotal Night of Champions event when Jimmy, feeling humiliated by Reigns during a tag match against Owens and Zayn, launched a surprise assault on his own cousin.

The Usos managed to secure victory over Reigns and his associate Solo at Money in the Bank, but the tension escalated when Reigns ruthlessly attacked Jimmy in front of Jey’s eyes. Driven by a desire for retribution, Jey sought to confront Reigns face-to-face. Yet, in an astonishing twist, Jimmy Uso shockingly intervened during the standoff, dragging Jey out of the ring and subjecting him to a debilitating superkick, ultimately leading to Jey’s defeat against Roman Reigns. As Jimmy walked away from the scene of the attack on his actual sibling, Reigns appeared taken aback. He capitalized on the opportunity, spearing Jey through a table to secure the victory and retain his coveted title.

The unexpected turn of events at SummerSlam has injected a fresh layer of intrigue into the storyline, leaving us intrigued to witness the unfolding chapters of this gripping saga.

2. Iyo Sky is the NEW Champ.

Asuka defends her championship against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair in a Triple Threat Match. Unfortunately, Bianca sustains an injury during the contest, yet she manages to surprise everyone by pulling off a roll-up victory over Asuka. However, her moment of celebration is abruptly cut short when Iyo Sky’s entrance music blares, and she rushes to the ring accompanied by Bayley, who possesses the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Bayley launches an attack on Charlotte and Asuka at ringside, attempting to strike Belair with the briefcase. In a twist of events, Belair fights back, causing a diversion that Iyo capitalizes on. Iyo seizes the opportunity and strikes Belair’s injured knee with the briefcase. Taking immediate action, Iyo calls for the referee and CASHES-IN her Money in the Bank contract. She executes her signature Top Rope Moonsault and secures the pinfall, earning her the prestigious women’s championship title.

Following the match, Dakota Kai joins the Damage CTRL team in celebrating Iyo’s remarkable victory.

3. Unscripted Moment between Rhodes & Lesnar.

The ongoing rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar has taken on a peculiar and enigmatic quality, as the reason behind Lesnar’s attack on Cody remains unexplained even after several months. This unusual feud reached its climax at SummerSlam, where Cody emerged victorious over Lesnar, securing a clean win with three consecutive Crossroads maneuvers. Yet, the most significant aspect of this feud unfolded after the match itself, when Lesnar unexpectedly extended his hand to Cody, shared a hug, and raised his opponent’s hand in a display of respect. This moment unequivocally indicated that Cody had garnered Lesnar’s admiration.

During the subsequent press conference, Cody openly expressed his bewilderment over the post-match interaction with Lesnar, revealing his ongoing struggle to comprehend the significance of their encounter. Adding to the intrigue, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, disclosed that the moment between Rhodes and Lesnar was entirely genuine and unscripted.

It’s well-known that Lesnar rarely engages in post-match gestures like handshakes and typically keeps a low profile. However, this incident serves as a testament to Cody’s elevation in the wrestling world. When Lesnar acknowledges someone in this manner, it signifies a legitimate recognition of their status, suggesting that Cody has truly achieved a high level of recognition and acclaim.
