According to reports, CM Punk is dealing with an injury & got hurt during his match against Jon Moxley on Sunday’s AEW All Out Pay-Per-View (September 4th).

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported about Punk, claiming the wrestler suffered a triceps injury while executing a dive outside the ring amid his match versus Moxley. 

AEW has faced controversy this week stemming from a backstage fight after their All Out PPV Media Scrum, where present Champion CM Punk & Trios Champions The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks mixed more than words, but a physical confrontation had begun. Because of these actions, AEW released an official statement on Wednesday ( September 7th) that everyone involved faced suspension.

Meltzer continued to say Punk got injured because of a move he did in that matchup.

Many also speculate Chicago’s favorite son might have occurred because of what happened backstage.

The individuals suspended are Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Pat Buck, Christopher Daniels, Michael Nakazawa, & Brandon Cutler.

Interestingly enough, Punk & his coach Ace Steel were not on that list. CM Punk’s future seems in question with AEW & we don’t want to read more into such news. The incident has not helped anyone at fault here. Sources informed Sports Illustrated that a third-party investigation is happening concerning this issue.

Punk’s foot was injured back in May. It made him vacate the Championship just days after winning. Punk went on an honest rant about Adam Page, how Hangman told lies that allegedly led to Colt Cabana’s rumored firing.

Fightful Select ascertained regarding this altercation that Ace Steel bit Omega & CM Punk threw punches. Someone also threw a chair at The Young Bucks. The chair hit Nick Jackson’s eye, correlating these combustible events this past weekend. 

Fightful also received info from Various AEW wrestlers who reportedly felt Punk could be released. Other wrestlers blame Omega & The Young Bucks for a 3-on-1 attack, so they say.

The melee assertively lasted six minutes. The Hoffman Estates Police Department confirmed that they never received information about the backstage fight at the NOW Arena. 

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful retained reports of Punk’s injury that he could have a torn pectoral muscle. The news indicates Punk will miss 6 to 8 months if still employed by AEW. 

It’s a shame drama behind the scenes overshadows their wrestling matches. 

Tony Khan addresses the Punk & The Elite situation on Dynamite this week. Khan stripped the Champions of their titles. Death Triangle ( Pac, Rey Fenix, & Penta def. The Best Friends ( Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, & Orange Cassidy on Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite. Khan did say a tournament would determine a new Champion.

It appears fans should have purchased tickets for the after-party fight!
