NXT Deadline Results: Saturday, Dec. 10th, 2022. 

Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge – Winner earns No. 1 Contender for NXT Women’s Title-Cora Jade vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Kiana James vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Zoey Stark

Roxanne Perez faces Zoey Stark to commence the match.

These wrestlers sure measured the other up. Stark looked to establish dominance early until Perez responded. Roxanne showed extraordinary athletic prowess, and Zoey used her power to limit a faster opponent. Perez executed an arm drag affecting the injured elbow. 

Kiana James came & took out Perez. Stark felt her unique offensive methods. James taunted Roxanne, an impressive dropkick from the top rope by Stark on both rivals. James retained tremendous pose. Perez stayed on the attack. What a knee shot from Zoey to Roxanne. Stark earned one fall over Perez. 

Cora Jade is 3rd; Jade utilized a dropkick & an elevated knee to James & Stark in check. Perez escaped the penalty box. She went after nemesis Jade. Kiana and Cora learned that Perez had a great instinct. Jade gained the fall on James. She scored 1, and Stark technically out-wields Roxanne. Jade applied an Indian Death Lock to Stark. James returns from serving her penalty. Kiana showed why she belonged. 

Indi Hartwell entered last. Hartwell relied on her incredible reach combined with strength. Indi received a pinfall equaling 1. Jade fights Stark, and Zoey hits the German Suplex against Zoey. Perez’s comeback helped Roxanne pin Stark. All four have one pinfall. If you were not ecstatic about this new concept and like many remained skeptical. We understand but what a fantastic opener for NXT Deadline. Roxanne added another fall making it two overall. Altogether, NXT Women’s Division impressed.

Alba Fyre versus Isla Dawn:

Professional wrestling contains memorable storytelling. Audiences became mesmerized regarding those enchanting entrances where two seasoned stars who made a name for themselves in NXT UK. 

It was hard-hitting physicality. There isn’t anything resembling fancy here. Alba brought some heat. Isla Dawn delivered brutal kicks. Alba would implement remarkable offense that kept this match highly competitive. Dawn came from the sky in the form of a top turnbuckle metora. Alba answered by diving over the top rope. I thought both Isla & Alba proved their value to the NXT brand concerning the event. Fyre looked as if to beat Dawn. Everyone noticed the referee foaming at the mouth with black ooze. This distraction caused Isla to ram her opponent into that exposed middle turnbuckle & hit Fyre with a slingblade type move for the pinfall victory.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match-(C)Pretty Deadly versus The New Day

The youthful stylish pretty-boy British team wanted to embarrass their charismatically-charged challengers. 

Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods taught Elton Prince & Kit Wilson plenty of experienced lessons. Not only can New Day wrestle, Kofi Kingston showed Elton Prince, Hey, I can twerk with the best. I found that both teams performed magnificently opposing the other. Xavier along with Kofi execute double team’s exceptionally. Pretty Deadly we’re opportunists in and out of that ring.

A memorable spot incorporated an Eddie Guerrero facet where the pairs attempted to cheat to win by using those tag-titles. Wilson & Kit kept the contenders isolated. In the end a double stomp & back breaker combo finalized their outcome.

Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge – Winner earns No. 1 Contender for NXT Title

Axiom vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Grayson Waller vs. JD McDonagh vs. Joe Gacy

I have similar feelings about this inaugural matchup like what fans saw with the ladies’s match. Every competitor’s stock was raised extensively. 

Axiom wrestled JD McDonagh at first. Impressions about the masked superstar, he can handle himself. The Irishman strategically wants to disect body parts from a pure wrestling standpoint. Carmello Hayes would display, why he’s currently prominent. His skillfulness via the air was stellar. Speaking of he facing Axiom that created such thrills. Grayson Waller’s arrogant brilliance left one great impression. Joe Gacy utilized crafty submissions. Combatants aren’t safe within penalty boxes either. Waller waited for Hayes to finish off Axiom, when Carmello attempts a pin. Waller pulls him off & he gets the cover on Axiom. Grayson runs from his competition as the bell rings signifies it’s end.

NXT Championship Match: (C) Bron Breakker vs. Apollo Crews

I enjoyed the backstory discussing why Apollo returned & it explained that the NXT Title had alluded him after all of these years. 

The crowd came alive with excitement for both Champion & Challenger. Bron Breakker reminds me so much of his father Rick & Uncle Scott Steiner. The NXT fan base transitioned into a loud dog pound. 

They begin by attempting to outmanuever each other. Those video details piecing their previous interactions told fans, Apollo has experience and he is playing the mental game with Bron Breakker. One took away Crews capacity to gained control. Apollo became an aggressor, he drop-kicked Bron & follows this up with a standing moonsault & Jacknife powerbomb. The NXT Champion bounced back with his own standing moonsault and flew over the ropes onto Crews. 

Here’s my highlights, Apollo counters Breakker via a vicious knee shot to the face. Crews German suplexed Bron several times. We see him hit a amazing frog splash. There are many near falls throughout this battle. Breakker causes Apollo to miss a turnbuckle splash in the corner. Breaker hitting the top four bulldog was epic, shades of his Dad. Breaker spears Crews and pins him for the 3 count.

Bron Breakker retains the NXT Championship!!!

Afterward, Waller attacked Breakker.
