WWE knows how to get attention from the fans and this past week on Smackdown they’ve ended the show with something that no one ever expected. A #1 contender’s match were booked for the main event and Roman Reigns forced WWE official Adam Pearce to participate in the main event Gauntlet match. After shenanigans’ Pearce came out victorious and now he is set to face Reigns for the Universal Title at Royal Rumble.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed about this shocking angle and he said it’s very likely that Kevin Owens will replace him before the Rumble and Owens will face Reigns for the title.

“It’s possible that they’ll change it back to Kevin Owens because it seems like a strange match to make; because if they do that it pretty much tells you that they literally have no ideas at all. I’m not ruling out that they’ll go back to Kevin Owens.”

WWE reported that Kevin Owens is injured after the vicious attack by Roman Reigns and Jey Uso last week on Smackdown. But it’s most likely will be a part of the storyline.

WWE already advertised a segment between Roman Reigns & Adam Pearce for next week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown. Now, we have to wait and see what WWE is planning for this strange feud.
