Here at Wrestlebuddy we got together and decided to rank every WWE RAW Women’s Champion since its inception in 2016. From the bottom of the pile to some of the most decorated women in Professional Wrestling, the RAW Women’s Championship hasn’t always fallen into the hands of those who necessarily deserved it.

#10 Nia Jax | 70 Days

Nia Jax’s title reign lasted from 8th April 2018 to 17th June 2018, lasting a total of 70 days and making her the 12th Champion overall. Leading into her match against Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss a storyline would see Nia Jax being bullied and manipulated by Bliss and Mickie James to do their dirty work. While they acted like her friend to her face, while also making sly digs, behind her back they would body shame Jax for being bigger and taller than the other girls, while also insulting her personality.

This created sympathy for Jax, eventually turning her face and defeating her former friend and bully Alexa Bliss while also becoming the Raw Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans on 8th April 2018. She would successfully defend her title against Bliss on 6th May at Backlash.

Then for some inexplicable reason the powers that be turned Nia Jax heel as she began to feud with Ronda Rousey. This would be brief, while the two battled for the championship at Money in the Bank, Alexa Bliss would cash in her newly won MITB briefcase. Nia Jax would lose the RAW Women’s Championship to Alexa Bliss on 17th June 2018.

#9 Nikki A.S.H. | 32 Days

Nikki A.S.H. became the 21st Raw Women’s Champion on 19th July 2021 after cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase, which she won the night before, on Charlotte Flair. All it took was a gimmick change and a cheerier domineer for the former Crazy Nikki to win the big one in WWE. Her title reign would only last 32 days, losing the belt in a triple threat match, that also included Rhea Ripley, to Charlotte Flair on 21st August 2021 at SummerSlam.

#8 The Nightmare, Rhea Ripley | 97 Days

Despite Rhea Ripley’s championship reign only lasting 97 days she made an instant impact on the RAW Women’s division from the moment she came second in 2021’s Royal Rumble. Making her debut on RAW at the end of March she would challenge RAW Women’s Champion Asuka for the title at WrestleMania 37, which was taking place at the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Raymond James Stadium.

On 11th April 2021 in the semi-main event of night two of WrestleMania 37 Rhea Ripley would defeat Asuka to become the 19th Raw Women’s Champion.  She would defend the championship against Asuka on the RAW after Mania only for it to end in a no-contest. The match was rescheduled for WrestleMania Backlash with Charlotte Flair being added to the match to make it a triple threat match. Ripley would retain the championship going on to face Flair in a one-on-one match at Hell in a Cell, which she would win via disqualification. A rematch was set for the following month.

Rhea Ripley would lose the RAW Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair at Money in the Bank on 18th July 2021.

#7 Ronda Rousey | 231 Days

On 19th August 2018 Ronda Rousey would defeat Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam making her the 14th overall champion. Her reign would last 231 days and would be the most dominant RAW Women’s Champion at the cost of the entire division.

She would lose the title to Becky Lynch in a winner takes all triple threat match for the Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championship, which also included Charlotte Flair, in the Main Event of WrestleMania 35 on 8th April 2019.

The biggest problem with Ronda Rousey as the RAW Women’s Champion is that she did absolutely nothing for the division. Her best matches were against female competitors who were by far superior to her in the ring, while everyone else was jobbed out for a woman who constantly insulted the business while wearing Roddy Pipers jacket. Nothing about her was original or new and by her running through the whole RAW women’s division, when she left no one looked like a viable challenger for Becky Lynch or anyone else who has held the title since.

#6 The Boss, Sasha Banks | 106 Days

Sasha Banks is a five-time RAW Women’s Champion with a collective reign of 106 Days. At WrestleMania 32 the Divas Championship would be renamed the WWE Women’s Championship, this would later go on to be renamed the RAW Women’s Championship, and the three women in that match was Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Wearing gear inspired by her hero Eddie Guerrero, she would make her WrestleMania debut alongside 3 of the 4 horse women of NXT. She wouldn’t win but that didn’t stop her determination to reach the top of the mountain.

She would become the 2nd Raw Women’s Champion on 25th July 2016 episode of Monday Night RAW, defeating Charlotte Flair. On 21st August 2016 she would lose the now renamed RAW Women’s Championship to Flair ending her first reign at just 26 days. They would continue to feud all through the Fall with the championship being passed between the two.

Her second reign would start on 3rd October episode of RAW, lasting 27 days before Flair would take the title inside Hell in a Cell on 30th October. Banks third title reign would only last 19 days, winning it off Flair on the 28th of November episode of Monday Night Raw. Flair would take back the title in a fall count anywhere match at Roadblock: end of the Line on 18th December 2016.

Sasha Banks would continue to be in the title picture over the next year but never being able to capture the title, until her match against the current RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam on 20th August 2017. After eight days her fourth reign would end at the hands of Bliss on the 28th of August episode of Monday Night RAW.

Her 5th title run would last only 26 days, due to the match airing on tape delay the WWE recognized the title reign from 27th July 2020 and not the day it was filmed, 20th July. The title would be won via a count out as this was added to the stipulation of the match, eliminating the champions advantage rule. Sasha Banks would be a double champion at the time, also holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Bayley. On 23rd August 2020 Asuka would defeat Sasha Banks at SummerSlam after an intense battle for the championship. Despite the loss, championship gold wouldn’t be off her mind but this time she would look to SmackDown and Bayley for her next challenge.
