Edge shocked the pro wrestling world when he returned after 9 long years at WWE Royal Rumble 2020. He gave stellar matches one after another since his return. Recently, Edge defeated Seth Rollins in a classic at SummerSlam, but after few weeks they faced off again at Friday NIght Smackdown at MSG where Rollins beats Edge and he was taken out of the arena in a stretcher. This creates a lot of stir in social media that he legitimately got his neck injured or it’s just an angle to continue this feud.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Edge is expected to miss several months from WWE Television. WWE wrote him off with the injury angle.

Edge went out on a stretcher and was taken away in an ambulance. This will explain Edge not being around for a few months. Since Edge only works part-time it is easy to do injury angles to explain his being gone but there’s also a limit on how many you can do before it feels like you’ve seen it before.

Edge is currently working on a part time schedule with WWE and this is perfect way to write him off. It’s pretty certain that the Rated R Superstar will make his return in 2022 as 2021 is already set to over in few months and WWE only have Survivor Series left from their Big 4 PPVs. We might see Edge make his return at Royal Rumble as the surprise entrant and eliminate Seth Rollins and set up their final encounter at Wrestlemania 38.
