Report: NBC’s Peacock acquires WWE Network streaming rights for United States

WWE has signed a multi year deal with NBC’s Peacock streaming service for the exclusive rights of WWE Network streaming in the United States.
WWE announced this on Monday that the company has signed a multi year deal with NBCUniversal for the exclusive rights of WWE Network streaming service at the United States. It will be launched on 18th March, 2021 on NBC’s Peacock streaming service.
According to Variety, Peacock will not charge any additional cost to watch the PPV’s and live events. This was not the case with ESPN+ where fans needs to pay an additional cost to watch the PPV’s.
The NBCU streamer will have all WWE live events — for no additional charge — including WrestleMania and SummerSlam, with Fastlane the first event to stream on Peacock on Sunday, March 21. (WWE fans who would prefer to order events via traditional pay-per-view will still have that option.)
WWE has struck gold with this huge billion dollar deal. They’ve signed this deal for 1 billion dollar. Also, this deal is a win-win situation for fans as well, because fans needs to pay 9.99$ per month to become the network subscriber. But, in Peacock they just need to pay 4.99$ per month to watch the exclusive WWE Network content. There’s an another option of Peacock Premium Plus plan in which fans needs to pay 9.99$ per month for an ad free content of WWE Network alongside with other Peacock content.
Currently, WWE Network have 1.1 million subscribers who will be migrated over to Peacock Premium. WWE fans will need to subscribe to Peacock soon enough if they want to catch up on WWE’s ongoing content and have access to their 17,000+ hours of on-demand content.
