Roman Reigns is the Universal Champion and he is set to defend his title on WWE Elimination Chamber PPV, but not inside the Chamber. He will defend his title against the winner of the #1 Contender’s match which is taking place on the same night inside the Elimination Chamber.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Reigns was set to defend his Universal title inside the Elimination Chamber, but plans were changed.

“It’s a way to get heat on Reigns. Originally, Reigns was going to be in the chamber match. That was the original idea and then I guess they didn’t want to do it on both shows or something. Whatever…they wanted to tweak it, so they tweaked it.”

Now, Ringside news reported that Roman Reigns had quite an influence backstage related to his creative direction and it helped him to pull himself from that brutal match.

Roman Reigns isn’t in an Elimination Chamber match this year. We asked around and were told that there was no way WWE was getting him in that chamber. That unforgiving steel structure is no place for a Tribal Chief.

Even Daniel Bryan make fun of Paul Heyman that is Roman Reigns’s is getting a Brock Lesnar contract. However, he is not a part timer like Lesnar but still he is getting privileges’ in WWE.
