Rey Mysterio has not been seen on WWE Television since his eye popped out at WWE Extreme Rules by the hands of Seth Rollins last month. After the match, WWE reported that his vision can be back because his optic nerve is not completely damaged and WWE said this because both sides are negotiating for a new deal. Mysterio worked at Extreme Rules without any contract and it was based on just a handshake deal.

Now, according to the reports of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mysterio is very close to sign a new contract with WWE, but nothing has been confirmed officially.

I can’t confirm pen to paper, but Rey Mysterio is staying, as was always the betting line outcome of this, but it’s as close to official without confirmation of it being official, and obviously Dominik is a big part of that deal.

As of now, Rey Mysterio’s son Dominik has been feuding with Seth Roillins and their match is set to happen at WWE SummerSlam.
