WWE shock the pro wrestling world when they reveal the name of the released wrestlers on April 2021. They released several top names in the name of budget cuts and Samoa Joe was the biggest name in the list. Samoa Joe was out of in-ring action due to injury and he was the part of commentary team from quite sometime. After his release speculations started that maybe he will go back to IMPACT Wrestling or join AEW. But, reports revealed that Joe is on his way back to NXT.

According to Fightful Select, Samoa Joe is headed back to NXT. There is a thought backstage that Joe will make a return to WWE’s NXT brand. Reports are suggesting that he might replace NXT GM William Regal.

We’re told there’s a plan in order already for what Joe will do in NXT, but that role is open to expansion if all parties agree.

Joe has not appeared anywhere after his release, because Joe is still under a 90-day non-compete clause. He also never returned to the ring due to injury. Rumors are circulating that Joe is still not cleared by WWE doctors to compete. It’ll be interesting to see Joe back at NXT. If he’ll be the new GM or Commissioner of NXT, it will be a banger for the show.
