Kairi Sane got retired from WWE last year in summer and she went back to Japan with her husband. Sane is still under WWE umbrella and helping WWE to expand their company in Japan. There were talks as well that WWE is planning to start NXT Japan.

STARDOM is set to have their biggest event in history on March 3rd, 2021 and they wanted Kairi Sane to be on the match card, as she is in Japan. But, WWE is not allowing Sane to perform outside the company.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE rejected that idea and Sane will not be allowed to perform on the STARDOM event. They pitched two different matches for her, but WWE nixed both ideas. 

Even though she asked, Kairi Hojo (Kairi Sane) was unable to get WWE permission to do the show. They had left it up to WWE. They wanted her in a big singles match but also offered WWE having her do a Rumble with legends. Sane is still under contract to WWE and works as a Japanese ambassador.

Sane worked with STARDOM earlier as Kairi Hojo, that’s why they wanted her on the match card. But, WWE is not allowing her to do so as she is still under WWE contract and it have some restrictions.
