WWE shocked the pro wrestling world with their massive budget cuts and mass releases of talents. Company has been heavily criticized by the wrestling community because of this. After the mass releases, rumors were circulated that WWE might be gearing up for sale that’s why they’re doing this and now reports are confirming the same.

According to Slice Wrestling, WWE is preparing to go for sale in the coming 18 to 24 months, with recent decisions being made purely to make WWE as profitable and attractive to a potential buyer as possible. It was further noted that Disney came out at the top as the potential buyer.

FOX and NBC are also in the list of potential buyers but WWE is more keen to sell the company to Disney due to their high paying fees when acquiring companies.

If Disney would take over all operations at WWE, all the content would move to the Disney Plus service following the expiration of the current deal with Peacock.
