Greetings, the WB returns with more pro-wrestling news to discuss concerning this week. Our weekly program highlights the latest wrestling rumors combined with recent breaking stories.

Here is a sample before reviewing everything. Info on Roman vs. Cody, CM Punk sighting, Roderick Strong appeared somewhere besides WWE, Seth Rollins in the lead for top Championship Contender, & Trinity Fatu (Naomi) in WWE making an Impact.

1. Roman vs. Cody at Mania 40
Wrestlebuddy learned via a report that WrestleVotes informed Louis Dangoor from GiveMeSport, WWE is considering a Roman Reigns versus Cody rematch regarding WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia. Fans might have expected Rock or Seth Rollins as potential opponents for Reigns & felt Cody thought he would dethrone Roman at WrestleMania 39. Will shall see if this occurs.
2. Punk Appearance at Raw
CM Punk was backstage at WWE RAW ( April 24th) before it aired on USA. Such news sent instant shockwaves throughout the wrestling media. Punk is reportedly coming back to AEW.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider broke the story. Last weekend, Punk was doing commentary for Cage Fury Fighting Championships while in Florida. He flew back to Chicago with multiple WWE stars & a producer. Punk showed up at Allstate Arena. Additional reports state this ex-WWE Champion made amends with The Miz & Paul ” Triple H Levesque. ” What’s remarkable is Punk had scrutinized both men previously over the years.
Allegedly, he and Triple H shook hands. Also, Punk asked to speak privately to him. Levesque checked with Vince McMahon. The executive was working remotely. WWE security told Punk that ” he wasn’t allowed to remain & Punk departed from the arena. CM Punk is from Chicago.
Punk’s AEW return is for their new show ” Collision! ” premiering in June.
3. Roderick Strong debuts in AEW
Another former WWE NXT star debuts for AEW. Adam Cole called out Chris Jericho’s attacks on him & Britt Baker last week. Jericho sends Daniel Garcia, Jake Hager, Angelo Parker, & Matt Mernard as they beat up Cole. Orange Cassidy & Bandido assist opposite the JAS. The odds appeared too much until Roderick Strong debuted. He cleared the ring of Jericho’s stable. The two Undisputed Era members embraced. So Dynamite gave us a surprise this Wednesday, April 26th. Strong has been a World Champion in Ring of Honor & WWE NXT Cruiserweight, Tag Team, & North American Champion.
4. Seth is the Top Contender for the New World Title
Triple H made a huge announcement in the ring on Raw regarding Night of Champions in May. He said WWE crowns a new World Heavyweight Champion. He added concerning Roman Reigns, The Tribal Chief will take his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to whichever brand drafts him. He presented this new belt for the Raw brand.
Our team also learned from Wrestle Votes reporting when speaking to GiveMeSport by revealing Seth Rollins as the leading candidate to become New World Heavyweight Champion!!!! Out of those names for top contention was Rollins. Here are others mentioned, Cody & McIntyre. Seth Rollins is likely to have a long-overdue World title run.

5. Naomi to Impact Wrestling
Former WWE star Naomi aka Trinity Fatu will make her Impact Wrestling debut.
Mercedes Mone headlines Stardom & New Japan Pro-Wrestling since her monumental departure from WWE. Several wondered what Fatu’s future would entail.
Both women famously walked out of WWE in May 2022 over creative issues while still being Women’s Tag Team Champions. PWInsider Elite now reports that Trinity Fatu will debut for Impact Wrestling during this weekend’s taping in Cicero, Illinois. The company teased a big surprise about these tapings at Cicero Stadium for Impact Wrestling Spring Slugfest in Chicago on Saturday & Fatu is the surprise. It’s not supposed to be a one-off appearance. They also said this begins a new tenure with the promotion. She’s a former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion. Trinity wrestles KiLynn King with Taylor Wilde in her first match. King & Wilde are the Knockouts World Tag Team Champions. Fatu confronts Impact Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo to let her know. She’s coming after Purrazzo & that belt.
It remains big news that this is her first appearance since walking out of WWE. Rumors began spreading about Fatu joining her husband, Jimmy Uso as a member of ” The Bloodline. ” She confirmed her WWE exit last month on Instagram.
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn retain the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles against The Usos on SmackDown.
