WrestleBuddy with a breaking news report Pro Wrestling Insider has named their number one wrestler for 2022 & that honor goes to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns! It’s no secret that The Tribal Chief is deserving of this celebration as voted by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
PWI’s very own Al Castle & Candace Cordelia informed fans about the news via today’s edition of the popular wrestling radio show, Busted Open. Roman was legitimate No.1. The renowned website verified this information, promoting its impressive list on Twitter.
The megastar makes his eighth appearance in the Top 10. What’s extraordinary is Reign’s main-stay allure for being featured on their highly deemed rankings list. “ The Head of the Table “ traditionally got respect by staking claims more often than being out of contingent as to the PWI’s famed classic system. Reigns secured a top spot circa 2016 & in 2021, he finished second behind Kenny Omega from AEW.
Cordelia & Castle announced the remainder germane to the Top 10 while on Busted Open Radio. Succeeding Reigns were New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Kazuchika Okada, CM Punk, & “ Hangman” Adam Page representing AEW, & WWE’s Bobby Lashley. Other wrestlers in the top 10 are Cody Rhodes ( WWE), Bryan Danielson ( AEW), AAA Mega Champion Hijo Del Vikingo, WWE’s Big E, & ex-Ring of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham.
Interestingly, this list had mainly stars from America. Two international wrestlers made it & that was Okada & Vikingo. Okada remains the singular overseas star to be ranked number one in 2017. The AAA star Vikingo manufactured history, becoming the first luchador to make the top ten since 2015 when Alberto El Patron was ninth.
