05. WWE Backlash 2001

Now, let’s go back to the era which I think everyone loves. Yes! I’m talking about the Attitude Era. Backlash 2001 was a very well balanced pay-per-view with a huge main event of Stone Cold Steve Austin & Triple H Vs. The Brothers of Destruction where almost all the titles were on the line.

The undercard was just stellar like the main event. The Ultimate Submission match between Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle was a pure classic and it stands out in the entire PPV. It was a pure technical wrestling match where both the wrestlers took each other to the limits.

Another classic moment of the PPV was Shane McMahon’s leap of faith off the Backlash’s structure onto The Big Show. Rhyno and Raven had a fun Hardcore match for the hardcore title. This was the time when Hardcore title matches took place at PPV, not like a surprise roll-up and become 100 time 24/7 champion (pun-intended).
