When The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show in February 1964, it started a musical movement that had not be seen before and would not be seen again on such a level.

Played by Bob Sabre, the idea of George Ringo was allegedly pitched by Dick The Bruiser. Ringo’s name was comprised of ‘Quiet Beatle’ and lead guitarist George Harrison and future voice of Thomas The Tank Engine and drummer Ringo Starr. He also had a guitar and mop top hairdo similar to that of which The Fab Four made so popular.

Ringo was an AWA enhancement talent who simply cashed in to the biggest counterculture movement in that era. Whilst not long lasting, it was a clear and distinct wrestling character in a time before more bombastic wrestling gimmicks.
