Men On A Mission were brought into the WWF as a trio of fun-loving wrestlers from the ghetto. Mabel was the powerhouse, Mo the Ricky Morton of the team (taking the majority of the heat) and Oscar as the group’s rapper to aid their appeal to a younger generation. What may not have helped however was their bright, baggy, outlandish attire – very much what I imagine WWE thinks cool kids dress up like.
They dressed up as Doinks for a memorably terrible match at Survivor Series 1993 before beating WWF World Tag Team champions The Quebecers at WrestleMania 9 by only by count-out, not winning the belts. They did, interestingly enough, win the titles by accident on a UK tour going on to hold them for 2 days. After failing to recapture the straps, Mo and Mabel turned heel attacking Oscar. This prompted a solo Mabel run where he won the 1995 King of The Ring and main eventing SummerSlam – but it is best not to talk about that, so we won’t.
